IV Sedation Dentistry in Queen Creek, AZ
If you’ve ever had a bad experience at the dentist, you’re not alone. Dental anxiety affects nearly half of all Americans—and it can keep you from getting the care you need for years.
At Urling Dental, we understand how real dental fear is. That’s why we offer IV sedation and other calming options to help you feel relaxed, safe, and completely at ease during your appointment.
What Is IV Sedation?
IV sedation is a deeper form of dental sedation. It’s delivered through a small IV in your arm, and it helps you feel completely relaxed throughout your visit. You’ll remain conscious, but most patients remember very little of the procedure afterward. It’s a great option for:
- Severe dental anxiety
- Multiple or complex treatments
- A strong gag reflex
- Trouble sitting still for long appointments
You’ll need someone to drive you home after your visit, as you’ll be very drowsy for a few hours.
Other Sedation Options
Not every patient needs IV sedation. We offer two lighter forms of sedation that can also help ease your nerves:
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
- Breathed through a small nose mask
- Works quickly and wears off within minutes
- Safe for adults and kids
- You can drive yourself home afterward
Oral Sedation
- A pill taken before your appointment
- Helps you feel calm and detached
- You’ll be awake, but deeply relaxed
- You’ll need a driver to and from your visit
What to Expect at Your Sedation Consultation
Your comfort is our priority. At your first visit, we’ll talk through your concerns and medical history to help you choose the best type of sedation. You’ll never be judged or rushed—just welcomed and cared for. Be sure to bring a list of any medications you take, including over-the-counter supplements.
